Hello! We a small, low income and working class family of four currently living in eastern Pennsylvania.
An unfortunate string of circumstances in recent years has caused us to fall onto increasingly tougher times.
- In 2019, we were suddenly evicted from our rental home that we had been living in for almost 20 years
- In 2021, still reeling from this sudden financial blow, our father was incarcerated and later deported back to Peru
- In 2022, my grandmother who had been living with us since I was an infant suddenly passed away. Due to numerous complications with the bank and accessing her account, we were unable to receive much of any money in the wake of her death.
Needless to say, things have already been very rocky financially (not to mention emotionally) for us having lost two family members and their income.
Now, in 2024, we have been hit with our mother's recent cancer diagnosis. This has already put her out of work for at least a week without pay and potentially could be more in the future while she undergoes treatment.
She works as a teaching assistant, doing very hands-on and at times strenuous work, and on top of it all is currently also in the process of changing employers.
This entire ordeal has understandably put a lot of stress onto all of us, and we could really use some help. The much-needed funds would be going to bills, groceries, mortgage, car payments, and home repairs.
