Rohingya Youth Association: Initial Fundraiser

Donation protected
INITIAL FUNDRAISER

The Rohingya Youth Association (RYA) of Chicago urgently needs funds to keep our United Soccer Club alive (tournament, equipment, travel, etc. costs), kickstart additional programs (e.g. performing arts and media groups), and formally establish our organization (nonprofit registration, office space, video/audio, etc.).  If you would like your donation to go towards any one of our funding needs in particular, feel free to indicate this as a comment on your donation. You can view the details of our current funding requirements at the following linked spreadsheet which includes additional linked documents detailing funding for specific programs:  Overall Expenses of RYA Chicago.

Any amount that you are able to contribute will be dedicated solely to the items listed in the above expenses spreadsheet. We thank you in advance for your time and generosity. Upon formal establishment, we will be much better poised to pursue a systematic fundraising model for the years to come through grant writing, fundraising drives, regular, and formal donations from charitable institutions.

You may learn more about us, our organization, and our contact information at our website: http://ryachicago.org/

ABOUT US

RYA Chicago was founded in January 2020 with the aim of being a youth-led and predominantly youth-serving social, cultural, and civic organization centered around the needs and aspirations of Chicago's growing Rohingya refugee population. We believe that refugee youth require effective means of safeguarding their social, emotional, and psychological well-being as they acclimate to life here in the US as well as avenues to activate their leadership skills towards various forms of advocacy work. To these ends, RYA seeks to sponsor forms of socialization, recreation, creative expression, professionalization, and mobilization so that Rohingya youth may feel empowered to not only contribute to their own self-betterments and diasporic communities but also to the societies at large in which they take refuge and have come to identify as their own.
