Rodrick Reed Crisis Recovery & Holiday Support

Here's what I want to say about Rodrick Reed. He shows up, not just for his innocent brother on Texas death row, but for both the innocent and the guilty. Recently (March 6, 2023), Rodrick stood in protest with us outside the Walls Unit in Huntsville when a guilty man was being executed. Last year when Melissa Lucio was facing a very real execution date, Rodrick showed up repeatedly to help bring attention to that case.

Now Rodrick needs our help. The everyday struggle of living on the edge of extreme poverty is very real. Everything costs more when you are poor. Every unexpected car repair or phone snafu or whatever just piles on. And for Rodrick, his vehicle and phone are the things that makes it possible to work. Recently, Rodrick experienced a break-in to his home and car, losing his phone and other valuables.

Now with the holiday season approaching, your support will help Rodrick be more present for his son and his family in the coming weeks.

In speaking with Rodrick when we set this up in October, 2023, we decided to set a fundraising goal that will help him get stable. There are immediate needs, and then there is the unexpected.
