Rodney Babrick Terminal Stage 4 Liver Cancer

My name is Jakob Babrick. I'm here now to ask for any help people can offer. My father Rodney went to the doctor for shortness of breath March 12th. From that moment is has been bad news daily. They sent him for multiple tests, as he had lost 65lbs from not eating. Everything has happened so quickly and left us with no time to prepare...if you can prepare for this sort of thing. In this last week he was told he had to get to the ER on Monday April 3rd because his most recent blood work had shown that his Na and K levels were off. The doctor had him air lifted to a larger Hospital with an oncology department. Apparently, it is stage 4 liver cancer and has already spread to kidneys lymph nodes and bone. All organs are slowly shutting down. Obviously, there isn't anything they can do. My wife and I live in The Shoals area of Alabama which is 6 hours away from our home town and my father. We were originally told Wednesday morning that they didn't even know if they were going to be able to keep him alive long enough for us to make it. So, we dropped everything and drove as fast as we could to get here to him. Now, they are planning to release him in a day or so on hospice. My mother is already taking care of my grandmother who has alzheimer's is blind, and immobile. I can't allow her to deal with both situations.

We are going to get him transported to my house so that I can provide for him during these last few weeks. Just today we had a scare that his place of employment was going to discontinue his FMLA, his health insurance, and his life insurance. Without these things we would not be able to afford hospice care or funeral funding or travel cost. Any and all contributions will go towards Rodney and our family to help with the medical bills and costs associated with this difficult time before and after the enviable.
