Supporting Robynne and Ellyanna: A Family's Fight Against Terminal Cancer
Hi, my name is John, and I have been diagnosed with Terminal Cancer.
On 1st September 2024 I was diagnosed with Stage 4 Cancer. Our worlds have been turned upside down. I am a father to two charismatic daughters aged 8 and 13.
My biggest wish/dream is to see them is to live long enough to watch them grow up.
Since September I have been having Chemotherapy every 2 weeks, running alongside immunotherapy.
My battle with cancer has been a tough journey so far, and it has brought significant financial challenges. The cost of treatments, travel for specialized care, and everyday expenses are overwhelming. As my focus is on my own health, we want to ensure that Robynne and Ellyanna have the stability and support they need during this challenging time.
I have always tried to be a beacon of strength and positivity, not only for my family but also for everyone who knows me. My daughters, Robynne and Ellyanna, are my pride and joy, and right now, they need our support more than ever.
We are reaching out to our community, friends, and kind-hearted strangers to help us raise funds for our daughters. Your donations will go towards a once in a lifetime family holiday and any other needs that arise whilst I fight this battle. Every contribution, no matter the size, makes a difference and provides a ray of hope for our family.
Robynne and Ellyanna are incredibly brave and resilient, but they should not have to face these challenges alone. With your generosity and support, we can lighten their load and show them that a caring community surrounds them.
Why am I asking for your help?
I want to be there for my daughters last days of school.
I want to see them grow up and experience life with him.
I am 56 years old, and I am not ready to give up.
My daughters deserve to have their father by their side, and Jan deserves a future with the man she married. With your support, I can keep fighting and work toward more time with my family.
Every donation, no matter how small, brings me one step closer to that future.
Thank you for helping me hold on to the most important moments in life.
Thank you for your kindness, compassion, and support in helping Robynne and Ellyanna during this challenging time.
Stomach cancer description.
Stomach cancer, also known as gastric cancer, is a disease where cancerous cells form in the lining of the stomach. It is a serious condition that can be challenging to detect early because symptoms often appear only in advanced stages2.
Symptoms
Some common symptoms of stomach cancer include:
· Persistent stomach pain, especially after eating.
· Bloating or feeling full quickly after eating
· Unintentional weight loss
· Persistent nausea and vomiting
· Difficulty swallowing
· Severe and persistent heartburn or indigestion
Causes and Risk Factors
The exact cause of stomach cancer is not always clear, but several factors can increase the risk, including:
· Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) infection: A common bacterial infection that can cause stomach ulcers.
· Diet: High intake of smoked, salted, or pickled foods, and low intake of fruits and vegetables
· Smoking: Increases the risk significantly
· Obesity: Being overweight can also be a risk factor
· Family history: Genetics can play a role.
· Pernicious anaemia: A condition where the body cannot absorb vitamin B12 properly.
Prevention and Treatment
While there is no sure way to prevent stomach cancer, some lifestyle changes can help reduce the risk:
· Healthy diet: Eating plenty of fruits and vegetables.
· Avoiding smoking: Quitting smoking can significantly lower the risk.
· Regular check-ups: Especially if you have risk factors.
Treatment options for stomach cancer may include surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, targeted therapy, or immunotherapy, depending on the stage and location of the cancer.
If you or someone you know is experiencing symptoms or has been diagnosed with stomach cancer, it is important to seek medical advice and support. Early detection and treatment can make a significant difference.
