Many of you may already know that my girl is hoping to accomplish a unique goal this year. Roberta turns 50 at the end of June and has set her sights on volunteering in 10 states to assist with 50 volunteer efforts, over the course of 2015. The states she is currently targeting include: CA, AZ, CO, NV, AZ, VA, MD, IN, LA, and MN. She has been working diligently to establish contacts with several new organizations, and is putting together a timeline of when she could travel to each of them.
I would really like to help her accomplish her dream and look forward to the experiences she will have. She has expressed that she not only wants to volunteer in a variety of locations with new organizations, but also hopes to share the experience with a family member or friend. In addition, I know it’s her intent to assist smaller/local groups that may not have the visibility or resources available to the larger foundations.
I know she could really use some help in achieving this and am hoping you might be interested in donating to a GoFundMe account that I have set up for her. This is primarily for travel expenses to the destinations. She will mainly be staying with friends and family, so hotel expenses would be minimal. You could also send a check (if you prefer), and could message me directly on Facebook so I can provide our mailing address.
If you would like to follow her journey throughout the year, she and I will post updates on Facebook. I know she plans on creating a photo journal at the end of the year as well, which will highlight the places she visited and experiences she had.
