My name is Karen Petracek and I am doing a fundraiser for Robert (Bob) Maier of Rocanville formerly of Whitewood Saskatchewan.

Uncle Bob or affectionately known as Uncle Buck to some of us was involved in a fall from a deck in July of this year and had to be airlifted to Regina General Hospital by Stars ambulance. Robert has been confined to a wheelchair since that time and has very limited movement in his left arm only.

In September Robert was transferred to a Wascana Rehabilitation Centre with a diagnosis of traumatic spinal cord injury resulting in quadriplegia with poor prognosis for functional recovery.

Robert will not be returning to his home or to his job and will require assisted care with daily functions. He will be undergoing intense physiotherapy until at least March 2024 with a goal of at least being able to feed himself with limited mobility in his left arm.

The funds raised here will go towards obvious medical expenses and future needs that will be required for daily care.

If you are not comfortable donating to Go Fund Me there is a trust fund going to be started at Conexus credit union. Donations must be made out to “Robert Maier trust fund” and can be made at any Conexus Credit Union.
