Hi!
You are one of the first people to know this; I am considering a run for US Congress in 2020. I’m considering this run because I believe that our society's greatest challenges can be solved with innovation and compassion. Throughout my life I have approached everything with a focus towards improving the lives of those around me. Now, I’m exploring a route that will allow me to do that on a larger scale.
Over the next two months, I will be traveling around the district listening to the stories, concerns, and hopes of our residents. We will have some volunteers with us to help capture hundreds of pages of notes from this tour. We’ll also have an interactive website that will allow residents to tell us what they want from a representative. Our goal is to make this a community decision, not just my own. You can help me continue doing critical work in our communities by donating to this exploration phase. The funds will go directly towards data collection, website creation, and reporting back out.
If together, as a community decide that I should not run for office, then all of the notes and stories will be given to the candidate(s) that do run. This will be a movement rather than a tour. I believe that in order to be authentic I have to approach this as a social innovator. One of the first steps in solving a problem is working towards better understanding the root causes. This exploration phase will help us all grow from the roots up to solve the problems of our time.
