For those of us who had the privilege of knowing Robel Fikermariam aka Robel Musika, we will always remember his artistic vision, unique perspective on the world, and the ability to bring beauty and meaning to even the most ordinary things. His creativity was a reflection of his soul, and we feel fortunate to have been touched by it.
Robel was a person who lived life with a simple and uncomplicated perspective, always striving to make things easier for those around him. He was someone who valued kindness above all else, and lived his life by this principle every day. His gentle spirit and compassionate heart touched the lives of so many people.
In a world that can often be complicated and overwhelming, Robel reminded us of the importance of living a life that is centered on simplicity, kindness, and love. He taught us that the most meaningful things in life are the relationships we have with others, and that it is through compassion and understanding that we can truly make a difference in the world.
It's impossible to quantify the impact Robel had on our lives and the world around us. His art, whether it was visual, musical, or written, moved us, inspired us, and helped us see the world in a new way. He had a gift for creating beauty out of the chaos of life, and we are grateful for the legacy he left behind.
As we honor his memory, let us also celebrate the joy he brought into our lives, and the way his art enriched the world around us. Let us remember his legacy of love, kindness, and compassion. His creativity was a light in the darkness, and even in death, it continues to shine on.
It’s unfortunate the Fikremaiam family has become a victim to losing Robel due to substance abuse epidemic and they are sharing their story with the community to bring awareness. Not many people in Robel’s immediate circle were aware of his activities with hard drugs but it is now too late.
Even though his family is very well capable of taking care of his funeral, we (his friends) feel that this is our duties and the least we can do for how he has touched all our souls. Funds will go towards not only his funeral expenses but also to establish a foundation that helps our people who are dealing with various substances abuse issues.
If you or someone you know is struggling with substance abuse, there are several options available to get help:
1. Talk to a healthcare provider: Your primary care physician or a mental health professional can assess your situation and provide guidance on treatment options.
2. Seek out a treatment center: Look for a treatment center that specializes in substance abuse and addiction. These centers can provide a range of services, including detoxification, therapy, and support groups.
3. Attend a support group: Support groups, such as Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) and Narcotics Anonymous (NA), can provide a supportive environment for individuals struggling with substance abuse.
4. Reach out to a helpline: There are national helplines available that provide free and confidential support and information for people seeking help for substance abuse.
Some examples include the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) National Helpline (1-800-662-HELP) and the
National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) DrugPubs Research Dissemination Center (1-877-643-2644).
5. Involve friends and family: Support from loved ones can be an important part of the recovery process. Consider reaching out to trusted friends or family members for help and support.
