Roanoke Needs a Place to Skate!

Wasena Skatepark was built under Wasena Bridge over 15 years ago. Unfortunately, the wooden ramps have become warped and damaged over the past decade, making them practically unusable for skateboarders.  Additionally, Wasena Bridge will soon be closed for construction, completely eliminating the park altogether. This will leave skateboarders in Roanoke with no designated or safe area to skate, forcing them to utilize the rest of the city as their skatepark.

We want to alleviate this problem by working with the City of Roanoke to raise funds and awareness for a new park. We have held several community events and fundraisers and have raised $4,000 so far! The City is willing to work with us and include a new park in their budget if we can raise at least $20,000 more dollars! We are a 501(c)3 Non-profit, so all donations will be tax-deductable.

All donors will be recongized immediately on our website as well as  receive a special thank you from the Roaskate Team for your generosity. We will be working on a way to commemorate each donor at the home of the future skatepark as well!

Please help us reach our goal and get kids off their screens and back on their boards! The City of Roanoke is a wonderful place to live, work, and play, and its citizens deserve a place to skate!
