Hi. My name is Sandrine. I am a supporter of the Bönpo community of Dholanji, in Himachal Pradesh, in India.
The Bönpo Community of Dholanji is pleased to announce the forthcoming construction of a 3.5-kilometer concrete road connecting Menri Monastery and Ratna Menling Nunnery. This road will serve as a vital lifeline for the entire Dholanji community — monks, nuns, lay residents, pilgrims, and visitors — ensuring safe and convenient travel in all seasons.
The project symbolizes not only a physical connection but also the deep spiritual unity between the Monastery and Nunnery, strengthening the collective heart of the Bönpo community.

Purpose and Significance
• Safety & Accessibility: The current path becomes difficult and hazardous during heavy rains. A concrete road will allow year-round safe access for all.
• Community Development: The road will benefit the monastery, nunnery, settlement residents, and visitors, enhancing both local livelihood and mobility.
• Spiritual Connection: This project will unite the sacred sites of practice — Menri and Ratna Menling — as a single field of merit and devotion.
• Preservation of Heritage: By supporting this project, donors contribute directly to the stability and growth of the Yungdrung Bön tradition, ensuring its continued flourishing in India and the world.

Project Cost
The total estimated cost for completing this project is approximately:
• ₹1 crore (10,000,000 INR)
• ≈ $120,000 USD
• ≈ £95,000 GBP
(Approximate exchange rates: 1 USD ≈ ₹83, 1 GBP ≈ ₹105)
As this is a large-scale undertaking, raising the full amount through the GoFundMe campaign alone has proven to be quite challenging.
Call for Support
International friends, sanghas, and individuals are warmly invited to join hands in this collective act of service. Every offering — large or small — becomes part of this sacred work, transforming generosity into a pathway of merit, unity, and blessing.
At the same time, our local community has come forward with sincere dedication, contributing through labor, resources, and continuous encouragement. Their support has been deeply inspiring and reflects the shared commitment of the entire Bönpo community. Together, we are doing our very best to raise the necessary funds step by step, with patience and determination.
We humbly invite international friends, sanghas, and kind-hearted individuals to join in this collective effort.
Your generosity helps transform this vision into reality, creating not only a road, but a path of merit, unity, and blessing for all beings.
