My name is Alise and these are my parents, Mike and Susan, with my brother, Aaron. On Tuesday evening, they left their beautiful home in Altadena along with my brother Aaron, who was living with them, out of "an abundance of caution" as the fire in Eaton Canyon began to spread. They packed only overnight bags, confident they would return the next day. But when they returned on Wednesday, their home and everything in it was gone.
Even though my parents have lost everything, they’ve turned their focus on those around them who are struggling as a result of these fires.
If you have anything to spare, please consider donating. If you’re unable to donate, please consider sharing this link that will hopefully help so many get back on their feet.
The loss has been devastating for many of their neighbors, members of their church community, and especially for my brother, Aaron. After losing his home during the pandemic, Aaron was once again displaced by this fire. This GoFundMe is to help Aaron as well as to support others in their community, including our friend, Jim, who are now facing the challenge of rebuilding their lives from nothing.
The funds raised will be used to replace Aaron's mode of transportation to and from work and help him with housing. All additional funds will be used to provide immediate relief, helping those who now have nothing replace basic necessities, secure temporary housing, and take the first steps toward recovery.
For so many, this fire has taken irreplaceable treasures including photos, heirlooms, and personal belongings but together, we can help restore hope.
Thank you for any contribution you can make. Every bit helps, whether it's $5 or $10 or $50, and your generosity will make a real difference in the lives of those impacted by this devastating fire.
