A Family in Immediate Need

Donation protected
1/23/24 UPDATE: The mother is out of the hospital and staying nearby the children. They are all enrolled in individual and family therapy, which will make a big difference! All of the children have been enrolled in school and had check-ups at the doctor, additional appointments have been made. This will be a long road! Beds have been purchased, along with bedding and additional dressers, to house their clothing. School supplies, clothing, shoes, etc. have all been purchased. Thank you to EVERYONE for your support but they need more. The funds run out so quickly with three growing children. All of this costs money and they are doing it on ONE income. Please give if you can and share with your friends.

1/15/24 UPDATE: The mother has come to after attempting to take her own life. She has a long road to emotional and physical recovery. She will remain in the hospital until she is physically able to go to In-Patient Care for Mental Health.

The children will remain with their aunts for the foreseeable future. Their needs are great and the family requires additional support. The children (14 year old autistic boy, 12 year old girl and 9 year old boy with Asperger's) all need clothes, shoes, school supplies, beds, bedding, all of the basics will have to be purchased. Not to mention food and medications.

While the family does what they can to support the mother and children, they are also working to arrange social work programs and therapy for the kids. It is a huge undertaking!

Any help you are able to give is greatly appreciated!

UPDATE 1/12/24 This morning the victim's mother attempted suicide and is currently in the hospital. There is so much devastation happening with this family and the extended family members who are trying to help need resources to support these children. Please help if you can.

1/10/24 God works in mysterious ways. One way He calls upon me is to help others in need. Today He made a very important call. I spoke with a close friend whose family is in crisis. Their niece has revealed to her Mother that she has been the victim of physical, emotional and sexual abuse by the hands of her stepfather, the man she's supposed to trust the most! Undoubtedly, this has led to tragic circumstances.

They are all staying with family members temporarily but her mother is a Stay-At-Home Mom who homeschools her children, two boys with autism and her precious 12 year old daughter.

They have nothing. They have left all of their belongings behind as they can't even bear to go into their old apartment. Social Services has been called but hasn't responded yet.

While we wait for Social Services, the family has no funds. The father was the breadwinner and everything is in his name, Mom has no access to any funds - not that there are any to be accessed. Extended family is doing what they can, but that is a temporary stop-gap.

They are in need of everything. The very basics: Food, Clothing, Shelter. Even their cell service has been turned off for non-payment.

This is the invisible type of tragedy, the one nobody talks about, that the news doesn't tell you about. You hear about the perpetrator on the news and the arrest. But what happens to the child(ren) and the family? In this case, they fall apart. They are all in shock and disbelief and devastated. The emotional toll on this poor girl who believes that she created this chaos by telling. Their family is homeless and she blames herself. This is not how our world is supposed to work.

If you can find it in your heart to help this family, it would be greatly appreciated! Every single dollar makes a difference!

The father has been arrested and is in jail, authorities and social workers have been contacted. All of this is a process but during the process there is a desperate need that needs to be addressed.

This child victim and her family will remain anonymous due to the child's age.
