Brave The Shave
Sarah Wheatley is an amazing mum of 3, Nana to her 9 month old Grandson but I call her Sis and she is my best friend who I wouldn't be without. Sis started training for the job she had always wanted to do, a health care support worker for the NHS at Bournemouth hospital. Sadly the first week of her training she was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer which has currently put her dream job on hold. She has since gone through major surgery and is currently undergoing 6 exhausting treatments of chemotherapy which then will be followed by radiotherapy. Sis has been told that she will lose her hair which obviously for a woman is a big deal but she is ready to take it head on! She is on a journey that will be long and tough but so is she!
Sis worked at the Spyglass & Kettle for a number of years on the bar which she thoroughly enjoyed. It was suggested by a fellow team member, Kirsten "Why don't we brave the shave in support of Sis and to help raise awareness of breast cancer?" so we are going to do just that!
On Tuesday December 17th, after busy night of Card Bingo, my nephew and 6 members of the team Braved the Shave with special thanks to Clair Pannell of the Award Winning - The Salon, Bournemouth assisted by Summer Upshall.
This page is setup up for any donations welcomed which will all go to Macmillan Cancer Support.
We have currently raised over £2000 and we are still going!
Together let's show Cancer who's boss!
Thankyou. ❤️
