Penglais Borneo Conservation Expedition
Donation protected
We are 11 students (ages 14 -17) from Penglais school in Aberystwyth and we are raising funds to participate in a 4 week work expedition to Borneo in the summer of 2026.
This once-in-a-lifetime opportunity will enable us to:
1. Immerse ourselves in traditional culture, living in the heart of a rural village and work alongside local people to support community development.
2. Protect this important environment through long-term conservation projects; preserving biodiversity and protecting vulnerable habitats, including those of orangutans.
3. Explore the unique jungle ecosystem and unexplored tropical wilderness on an adventurous 4 day trek.
This opportunity will be invaluable to the development of our own Penglais students. An rare opportunity to learn about different cultures, live and work alongside local communities and work together on environmental, wildlife and community projects.
Any contributions made will help our 11 students realise their goal of travelling to Borneo and will be gratefully received.
Thank you for your support,
Yours sincerely,
Tyler Gornall, Charlie Land, Tilly Durrant, Esme Drakeley, Gwion Smith, Millie Corder, George Wainwright, Morgan Briwnant-Jones, Ruben Buxton, Bethan Crampin and Evan Pike.
