Rizzy never asked or begged for money. He believed in hard work and struggle. He was very proud of his hard work and took pride in the differences he made whether it was his role at his job or his responsibilities within in the community. If you know Rizzy you know he never asked for much, but was always ready and willing to give what he could and lent a helping hand no matter the circumstances. He believed in working hard both as a tradesman and as a member of his community.
Rizzy was apart of the BOS community team and was truly dedicated to this with incredible passion. One of Rizzy’s goals was to build a water well (the gift of life for 100 years) in Kenya. He worked hard on a 3-year goal to raise $5000 and to one day visit the well.
To date, we have completed a water well in the following countries:
4. Pakistan (under construction)
5. India (under construction)
6. Bangladesh (under construction)
7. Afghanistan (under construction)
Our goal is to build a well in:
- Somalia ($5,000)
- Burundi ($5,000)
+ all over the world.
The price of the well depends on the depth, which takes into consideration:
- The availability of ground water or proximity to the water table
- The technology available or used
- Levels of pollution. For example, in areas where arsenic is high, deeper wells are typically built as the groundwater is likely to be contaminated.
It takes between 3-5 months for the well to be completed. However, challenges such as lock downs and weather can lead to delays. Once the well is completed, we will share with you the final report which includes pictures and possibly videos of the individual wells. The report will have the exact location of the well, as well as who is benefiting from it.
We lost our brother Rizzy so we will be placing a plaque in his honour on the well. We honour Rizzy by giving back the gift of life, water.
With that being said, we have decided to share the charity’s website for anyone interested in donating to help build a well.
It is our goal as Rizzy’s Brothers and Sisters to live out his vision and continue his legacy just as he would.
On behalf of BOSrc,
Thank you in advance for your contributions and for your continued support!
