The River Rock Project

“The River Rock Project is a celebration of women and all that we’ve achieved in the 100 years since we fought for - and won - the right to vote. And all we still have to achieve. It is about galvanizing women to get out the vote; to raise our voices and be heard. I sing this song for all the women who have been brave and bold enough to speak their truth, even when society doesn’t want to hear it. This is River Rock.” - Meghan Cary

Purpose:
Using music to celebrate women’s rights, inspire continued action to achieve economic, social and political equality for all, and get out the vote.  We've earned a voice...let's raise it!

WHAT WE NEED:

We made it! Now, our immediate need is to fund the distribution of the River Rock Anthem Video across the country to galvanize ALL women+ and the people who support them to raise their voices--AND VOTE!

The River Rock Anthem Video features women+ across the country and around the world coming together to raise their voices. We are donating River Rock to over 100 organizations and groups committed to women's rights, amplifying marginalized voices, and getting out the vote!

The total projected budget for creating and distributing the River Rock Anthem is $30,000.
Your initial investment in the project funded the filming, but we still need to:

1. Pay the women who created The River Rock Project and continue to work daily on spreading the Anthem;

2. Fund opportunities to spread River Rock and women's rights through music; and

3. Amplify women's voices in this election year to empower all citizens to VOTE!

THE RIVER ROCK ANTHEM VIDEO:

What it is:

The River Rock Project began with the desire to film and share Meghan Cary’s empowerment anthem, River Rock, in celebration of this year’s 100th anniversary of women’s right to vote. Inspired by the compelling story of the Justice Bell, and the women who employed this powerful symbol in the fight for their voice, and recognizing the need for an anthem to lead the fight today, The River Rock Project was born.

Who it's for:
Women+ and the men who stand with them.

Why Now:
We are celebrating the centennial of the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. This is the perfect time to shine a light on the Justice Bell and to reaffirm the ideals of justice and equality embodied in it. And it’s an election year: “We’ve been given a voice...let’s raise it!”

What’s Happening:
River Rock Project  joined forces with Vision 2020 (of Drexel University) and Justice Bell 2020 for the national premiere of the River Rock Anthem Video featuring women+ from around the country and the men who stand with them. The nationally televised premiere on August 26 was part of Vision 2020’s Toast to Tenacity celebrating the suffrage centennial  streamed live from Independence Mall in Philadelphia.

The River Rock Anthem Video is now being shared with partner organizations across the country throughout 2020 to inspire, engage and galvanize women to get out the vote!

You can still add your message to the movement.
