Our Vision
Riverlight Center was created to be a shared community space where people of all ages can gather, grow, heal, and discover their inner light.
We envision a place where creativity, wellness, education, and connection live side-by-side—accessible not just to those who can afford extracurricular programs, but to everyone in our community.
Our long-term goal is simple but powerful:
to bring meaningful services into the heart of New Richmond so families don’t have to leave town—or be left out—to access opportunity.
Our Model: Accessible, Inclusive, Community-Powered
Riverlight Center operates on a volunteer-led, donation-based model.
Most programs are free to attend, with donations encouraged.
Those who are able to give help offset access for more vulnerable families.
This model allows dignity, inclusivity, and shared responsibility to coexist.
We believe community thrives when people give not because they are forced—but because they can.
What We’re Doing Right Now
Even in our current, limited space with board-led hours, Riverlight Center is already meeting real needs:
Meditation & socialization groups held three days a week
Open games and puzzles to encourage connection and conversation
A library to borrow or exchange books.
A community grief support group, in partnership with Clermont Mental Health, created in response to the tragic loss of a young person in our village
Seasonal youth programming, including Halloween and Christmas activities
Upcoming Valentine’s Day Craft Party
Rental use for birthday parties
Collaboration with an AA/NA group to begin hosting meetings
A music teacher offering lessons in the space and donating 40% of her fees back to the Center
A yoga instructor interested in leading donation-based classes
A local leader interested in facilitating a community drumming circle
Community Partnerships & Growth
We are actively cultivating and seeking out partnerships with:
Local artists, musicians, bakers, and crafters
Individuals interested in launching a community gardening program
Wellness and recovery groups
Educators who want to share their gifts
Our dream is a collaborative system, where talent is shared, creativity is celebrated, and proceeds partially cycle back into sustaining the Center.
The Next Step: Expansion
To fully realize this vision, we aim to expand into the adjoining unit, allowing us to dramatically increase programming.
This expansion would make space for:
A full dance / yoga / martial arts studio
An activity area with ping-pong and air hockey.
A music wing, including a donated piano
An art wing showcasing local artists, with artwork for sale and proceeds shared with Riverlight Center
Expanded hours and staffed programming
More youth, adult, and family activities under one roof
Why This Matters in New Richmond
Like many small towns, New Richmond has been deeply affected by the drug epidemic and a lack of accessible services.
There is no local YMCA or community center.
Many enrichment activities require a 20-minute drive or more
Families with limited transportation or resources are often left without options
Riverlight Center exists to close that gap—bringing opportunity into the village rather than expecting families to go find it elsewhere.
✨ Lighting the Spark in Every Person
At the heart of Riverlight Center is one core belief:
Every person has a light within them waiting to be turned on. At all ages, we benefit from exposure to activities that promote creativity and growth.
But discovery of talent requires exposure:
How does a child know they love music if they never touch a piano?
How does a child dream of ballet if they’ve never seen a performance?
How do we nurture the next Picasso without placing a paintbrush in their hand?
How do future scientists find their spark without museums, experiences, and curiosity-building moments?
Schools do what they can—but they can’t fill every gap.
Riverlight Center exists to help fill those gaps through:
Creative programming
Cultural exposure
Field trips to museums, plays, ballets, and orchestras in the Cincinnati area
Experiences that ignite curiosity and possibility
Our Invitation
We are seeking:
Volunteers who want to share their skills and passions
Board Members
Partners who believe in community-driven solutions
Investors and donors who understand that long-term social impact begins locally
By supporting Riverlight Center, you are not just funding a building—you are investing in people, connection, and possibility.
Donations accepted at Riverhills Bank locations under Riverlight Center.
