Hey, I'm Captain Chuck
Three years ago, I got my captain’s license…I'm building a new career I can retire into. Not only for me, also for something that brings people together, respects nature, and includes those who are so often left out.
I grew up in rural Bucks County, Pennsylvania. Raised with creeks, woods, and wildlife in 450 acres of State Game Land in a 5-minute walk from the house, I learned to love the outdoors at a young age. I also learned how much nature can teach us… if we have access to it.
My experience started when I gave horse-drawn carriage tours around Independence Hall in Philadelphia. I found joy in connecting with people
through storytelling, education, and history.
Several years later, I spent five years as a special needs school bus driver. I got to know how amazing kids and their families are. Firsthand, I learned, what inclusion really looks like — and what happens when people aren’t given a seat at the table (or on the boat).
Presently, I'm working at Kennedy Space Center Visitors Complex as a Private Educator. The struggle for happiness can be real, but making moments happen can be very satisfying.
Where are we now?
All Access River Tours, Inc. is newly incorporated, and we are wading through the paperwork to become a 501(c)(3) non-profit. This campaign is to keep things moving until we're registered and then the
real fundraising can start. The support now will create a fully ADA-accessible boat.
Our tours will be:
-Fully accessible (wheelchair-friendly ramps, secure seating, fully ADA compliant, and more)
-Educational (wildlife, ecology, and local history for all learning styles)
-Inclusive (designed to support guests with disabilities, seniors, kids, veterans, and undeserved communities)
-Community-focused (partnering with schools, care homes, veteran groups, and non-profits)
This is about more than sightseeing. This is about belonging.
“Why a boat?”
Water is healing. Nature is freeing. Most people with mobility challenges never get to experience a river tour — not because they don't want to, but because no has created a space where they are able to.
We’re here to change that.
Our immediate goal is breaking things down into steps. To get the first boat on the water with safety and accessibility we need:
Phase One Goal: $30,000
-Basic Business Needs (website, bookkeeping, reservation systems, and a floating dock for the first boat)
-Boat basics still needed (horn, more life preservers, retrofitting the console, and requirements to make it coast guard compliant)
-Volunteer and staff training (inclusive hospitality, CPR, mobility support)
-Boat upgrades (wheelchair ramps, chair tie downs, ADA compliant railings, tables, educational materials, audio systems, including unforeseen additions)
-Marketing and outreach.
The first stretch goal will be $70,000, to have two boats at our first location. Once we have our nonprofit status, we'll build on our plans and how we're going to expand on our mission.
Why It Matters
If you have ever watched someone you love get excluded from an experience because of accessibility, seen how nature can lift someone’s spirit, or believed that kindness and inclusion matter... You understand.
Our board is made up of people with real experience in public education, accessibility, and guest services. They carry my passion for making the world a better place, and most of them are current or former crew members from Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex.
Our Mission Statement
At All Access River Tours, our mission is to provide enriching experiences, not only for the general public, but also ensuring that “Adventure Knows No Limits”. We exist as a tour company to bring the community together and make the magic of wildlife and the world of conservation accessible to everyone, including individuals with disabilities, veterans, seniors, families, and the broader community who seek immersive experiences in nature.
We prioritize accessibility by providing fully accessible boat tours with specialized equipment to accommodate diverse needs. We engage our guests through fully narrated tours that educate and inspire, fostering a deeper appreciation for the environment. By partnering with wildlife organizations, we promote and stand with conservation efforts. We enhance these efforts by reaching out to enlist cooperation and interactions with local business and community associations.
By bringing people together and breaking down barriers, we aim to create lasting memories and meaningful connections that transcend limitations, enrich lives, foster communities, and reinforce the importance of everyone's stewardship of our planet and those we share it with along the way.
How You Can Help?
-Donate—whether it’s $10 or $10,000, every bit helps get us on the water.
-Share this campaign with your friends, coworkers, neighbors, or anyone who loves nature or inclusion.
-Reach out if your organization wants to get involved.
On a personal note, the first boat is named "Charlie", after my Dad. With out the guidance and sacrifice from him, and my mom, this project would not be coming to fruition.
From the bottom of my heart —
Thank you for believing in this dream.
