*Ryder James (top) and River Landon (bottom) on June 28th*
From Jeremy Mikus (Wednesday, June 27th):
To all our family and friends, Naomi and I are asking for your prayers, positive vibes, or even a coin in a fountain tonight...
Our twin boys, Ryder and River, were delivered fairly early at 25 weeks and 3 days. To get where we are tonight, Naomi and I have spent 6 years experimenting with IVF and 2 years of trials trying to achieve success with the help of Lynzee Morales, who is not only our gestational carrier, but also Naomi's cousin and living proof that angels walk (love you so much). While words can't describe how overjoyed we are to have achieved this stage, we are faced with yet another tremendous challenge.
This afternoon, Ryder, turned south and ran into significant problems. He was transferred to Texas Children's Hospital this afternoon and is on full life support and clinging to life. Right now, the truly amazing doctors and medical staff here have been able to stabilize him for the night and will continue holding a steady pattern in order to strive for fractional improvements at this stage.
His brother, River, is not out of the woods yet either but in a much more hopeful situation. He is across the way at Houston Methodist The Woodlands and also facing his own set of challenges but Ryder's condition is much more fragile with no guarantee that he will make it another week, day, or even an hour.

Naomi and Jeremy’s sweet baby boys have arrived far too early. As with any medical issues, the care for 25-week preemies is going to be extensive, long-term and expensive. While we are showering this beloved family with support, let’s help with what we know will be expensive bills. Thank you from all of us for any thing you can give!

Update from Thursday evening (6/28):
River: Still stable, not being transferred to Texas Children's yet.
Ryder: The X-ray went well and his heart is strong. Waiting on the brain scan results until later. Checking oxygen levels.
