As a former military leader and career trainer I’ve observed chess being used for many diverse scenarios and watched its magic work throughout our lifetimes. We built stronger connections, erased social boundaries, and learned how to better govern many life decisions. The time to share this in a way never attempted had finally come.

The Effect of Chess on Standardized Test Score Gains

Abstract: The study compares the standardized test performance of “chess kids” versus their peers. The comparison of score gains to non-chess peers (same grade and same academic percentile) attempts to eliminate the chicken-and-egg issue that often muddles this topic, that is, does chess make kids smarter or do smart kids simply prefer chess. The data indeed confirm that chess players are generally of higher academic standing (chess kids are smart), but more importantly it statistically shows that learning chess increases a student’s academic performance (chess makes them smarter).

“Chess is proven to increase life-learning skills by helping us with focus, respectful interactions and adapting practices towards winning achievements. It is also an essential tool that promotes inclusiveness and benefits education, rehabilitation, recreation, and friendly competition.”

This chess kit not only includes everything needed to teach, learn, play and compete in the chess world; it's also designed for individuals with no prior chess playing experience. The introductory, teacher lead course included gives you all the tools needed to be competing in just the first few hours of learning. We're aiming to build a larger, more diverse chess playing community through donating free Royal Chess Masters Group Program Kits to various scholastic and other community programs. Those who desire to add an all-inclusive sport and learning program to their environments.
