RiteAid worker attacked by antimasker, then fired
Elena Santiago was working at RiteAid when a customer came in without a mask. The store makes masks available for those who come in without one. He refused twice, and then started destroying the store and threw her towards a magazine rack.
The full story can be found here , with surveillance video and all. She's a 40-year old who was making $11/hour at a thankless job, for a company that didn't have her back.
She was told she violated store policy by asking the customer if he had a mask, and yet the store provides them. When attacked, she tried to pull out pepper spray, and when he attacked AGAIN, she pulled out a pocket knife she carries.
Personally, I consider any anti-masker to be a direct attack on my person, and I fully support her actions. I cheer this woman who stood up for herself, and I consider it shameful that RiteAid handled this situation so poorly.
