Rissa's Cancer Journey

Hi, my name is Mellissa Price and I am raising funds for one of my best friends Rissa.

It is often said that life will throw you curveballs. Sometimes when you least expect it. And that is exactly what has been thrown Rissa's way. After going in for a routine pap, Rissa was given some of the hardest news of her life. She was diagnosed with cervical cancer. Since then, it has been procedure after procedure. On February 28th, Rissa went in for surgery in hopes that they would be able to remove the cancerous cells. Unfortunately, the cells are too aggressive and the cancer has begun to spread to her uterus. This means that Rissa will now have to go through more procedures in order to become cancer free. We don't know what that looks like right now, but we know it's going to cost a lot.

Rissa is one of the strongest and most gracious people I know. It is extremely hard for her to ask for help. She is the kind of person that would rather do it all on her own and push through. But she just can't anymore. Not only is she a single mom to two beautiful boys, but Rissa is also in school full-time to become a therapist, works a part-time job and is now having to go through cancer treatments and procedures. Unfortunately, she does not have health insurance at this time either, due to changing jobs just before she was diagnosed, which makes things even more difficult. Her next appointment is on March 20th, and this appointment will likely determine what needs to be done moving forward. The money raised through this GoFundMe will be used to pay for her treatment and the medical bills that will accumulate.
