I am still shaking as I write this, because the images replay in my mind over and over.

The fire. The smoke.

The moment when we realized our home—our world—was being taken from us.

It happened so fast that it didn’t feel real. One moment the house was quiet, and the next, flames erupted like something out of a nightmare. The air turned black, alarms blaring, heat closing in on us. We didn’t have time to think—only time to run.

We fled with nothing. No bags. No clothes. No keepsakes. Just the desperate instinct to survive.

Standing outside watching the fire spread through every room, every memory, every piece of our lives… it felt like we were watching our entire past burn to the ground. The crackling flames, the smell of smoke, the sound of everything collapsing—it’s something we’ll never forget.

We lost everything. Everything.

Clothes, furniture, important documents, our kids’ belongings, sentimental items that can never be replaced… gone in minutes. What the fire didn’t destroy, the smoke and water did. The place we once called home is now a shell, charred and unrecognizable.

The emotional toll has been crushing. We are exhausted, traumatized, and overwhelmed.

Simple things—like finding clean clothes, a place to sleep, food, or toiletries—have become daily battles. We are trying to hold ourselves together, but truthfully, we’re shattered.

We never thought we’d have to ask for help like this, but the reality is we can’t get through this alone.

We need support to cover emergency expenses like:

• Replacing clothes and basic necessities

• Finding temporary housing

• Food and daily essentials

• Rebuilding the stability that was ripped away from us overnight

Insurance moves slowly, trauma moves even slower, and right now we are caught in the middle with nothing but our hope and the kindness of others.
