On Sunday evening, September 21st, 2025, the Burch family's world was irrevocably shaken. My brother-in-law, Tony, and his 9-year-old daughter, Zayley, along with Zayley's best friend, Taylor, and her father, Josh, were returning from the races in Ocala, Florida. A drunk driver caused a horrific accident. Josh heroically attempted to avoid the collision, but tragically, he was unable to prevent a head-on impact on Tony's side of Josh's Nissan Xterra. The vehicles collided, leaving two daughters and two fathers severely injured.

As of Wednesday afternoon, September 25th, Taylor, Josh, and Zayley have been released from the University of Florida Medical Center. However, Tony remains in critical condition in the trauma ICU. He has endured multiple surgeries to repair shattered limbs and address significant damage to his abdominal organs. He is also battling a severe brain injury. His road to recovery will be long and arduous. At this time, Tony is considered disabled, and we are praying for his strength and resilience as he fights to make it through this.

Beyond the immense emotional toll of this tragedy, my sister, Naomi, and her family face a daunting financial future. With Tony's uncertain recovery and Naomi needing to stay home to care for Zayley, they have lost both sources of income. Adding to this burden are the mounting medical bills, made even more challenging by the absence of medical insurance.
