Hello, this is Rose making this gofundme on behalf of my husband, Riley, who is working to move to the US from Australia. We have been in a long distance relationship for 7 years and have been trying to help close that gap since 2024.

Immigrating to the States is rough, but we've managed to make it so close to him being able to live and work in the US... HOWEVER....

Due to the processing time of his Greencard being impossible to predict as the wait time changes constantly, we have decided to have him relocate to Canada while we wait for his US greencard to go through. This could take months, or even more years, and the distance has caused strain.

Thankfully, immigrating to Canada from Australia isnt difficult, and he has been able to obtain working rights, but now we face a new problem..

Riley has spent the past 2 months visiting the US and job hunting in Canada so he can get set up for his temporary move, but we have had very little luck in securing a job. Many interviews, and interest in his application but they often go without a follow up. While in the states, Riley has had to live solely off my income and his savings, since he cannot legally work here, but his savings have had to get low due to currency conversions and international fees. So we are asking for help.

To enter Canada, he is required to have 2.5k CAD in savings, and 1k is required to pay for insurance in the country. This GFM is being used to help pay for a small portion of that (as we still have some savings) and then have leverage money for rent, public transport, and groceries incase job hunting is still a struggle.

We are hoping he will be able to get a job within his first month of being in Canada, as itll be even easier for him to attend in person interviews (all have had to be over the phone/online) so we are only requesting an estimate of the funds to survive a short period of time.
