Hello, my name is Amanda Madrid. I am a 21 year old full time student. But most importantly I am a mom- Riley's mom. I got married at 18 and pregnant with my beautiful daughter at 19. I had her the day after my 20th birthday! She has been, by far, the best birthday gift I have ever received. Fast forward to July of 2020 and after months of marriage therapy my ex, Andrew, and I mutually decided to file for divorce. I moved out of the home a month later.

We hired a mediator and agreed upon 50/50 custody before I moved. Co-parenting can be difficult but it was going well. However, on October 18th I received a text from Andrew stating that I did not need to "make the trip" to pick up my daughter because he would be keeping her. My heart sank. How could this be happening? How could he do this? After speaking to the local authorities I found out that legally he could, as nothing that we had agreed upon had yet been signed by a Judge. And although many stated that morally it was wrong, Andrew was within his legal rights. While he was convincing me not to get an attorney and telling me things were and would stay civil, he later admitted to consulting several local attorneys behind my back. I was completely blindsided by his actions. 

Since Riley was born, I have been a SAHM and student. That was an arrangement agreed upon between Andrew and I as we both agreed that this was what was best for our family. In fact, before COVID I had even been taking my daughter to school with me since she was around 6 weeks old. After filing for divorce, I moved up north into a room offered to me for free. I moved here so that I could focus on obtaining my high school diploma (due to being taken out of school early as a child, it is something that I have not yet received). I do not currently have a job and while I have recently applied, I do not have the time to wait until I can save up 4k to hire this attorney and get my daughter back.

The holidays are coming up and I cannot imagine spending them without my baby. I had a very difficult childhood and yet I have never felt pain like this. I am in
desperate need of an attorney to be able to fight to get my daughter back in my arms. I found an attorney I would like the hire however, his retainor is 4k. I am creating this gofundme in hopes of coming up with the retainor sooner rather than later. Please, if you can help in any way I would be so, so thankful.
