I’m not a cyclist. In fact, I hate cycling, and attempting to ride London to Brighton and back again in one day (with zero training) is without doubt one of the stupidest ideas I’ve had.
But I’m doing it anyway.
Because someone I care about is facing something far tougher.
Watching Scatley go through major surgery and now prepare for both radiotherapy and chemotherapy has been nothing short of inspiring. He’s been thrown massively out of his comfort zone yet he’s facing it all with ridiculous amounts of courage, strength, and resilience.
He hasn’t chosen this challenge, but he’s taking it head on like an absolute champ.
And that’s made me want to do something that tests my mindset, my limits, and hopefully raises some money along the way.
So why the challenge?
Scatley is self-employed, and with the road ahead likely keeping him out of work for a year, this situation will no doubt bring financial pressure — pressure no one should have to face on top of fighting cancer.
I want to raise money to give Scatley, and also Kirsty the break they deserve. Whether it’s helping them afford a well-earned holiday, or just giving them some peace of mind, every single donation will help lighten the load.
So here’s the challenge….
London → Brighton → London, all in one day. 200km. 2368m elevation. No training. Lots of pain.
If you can donate, no matter how big or small, it would mean the world.
Let’s show him how much support he has ❤️
