On June the 28th, I’ll be taking on a 60km cycle ride along the Historic Downs Link route — following the old railway line from Shamley Green to Shoreham-by-Sea — to raise money for two causes that are incredibly important to me.
This challenge is about more than completing the miles. It’s about supporting our local community and helping people living with Multiple Sclerosis (MS), a condition that has personally affected my family. I have lived in Farnborough Street, Farnborough for over 20 years and the funds will be split 50/50 for:
A community-focused group dedicated to supporting and improving the local area through events, initiatives, and activities that bring residents together and strengthen community spirit. Their work includes enhancing the historic (original) Farnborough High Street, improving the station surroundings, and developing community garden and community house spaces for residents and visitors alike to enjoy.
An independent Surrey charity providing vital support for people living with Multiple Sclerosis through therapy sessions, exercise programmes, wellbeing support, and a welcoming community environment.
MS has touched my family personally, which makes this fundraiser especially meaningful to me.
Route: Downs Link (Downs Link Six Stage Route Guide)
Start: Shamley Green
Finish: Shoreham-by-Sea
Distance: 60km
Terrain: Scenic countryside trails and former railway paths through the South Downs
Every donation — no matter the size — will help support:
- Local community projects and events
- Vital wellbeing and therapy services for people living with MS
If you’re unable to donate, simply sharing this page would mean a huge amount.
Thank you so much for your support, encouragement, and generosity.
