Ride for Lauren: Supporting Recovery at The Haven

In Memory of Lauren Martinez

At The Haven, we are honored to be part of this meaningful tribute to Lauren and her journey. The Haven is a nonprofit substance use and mental health disorder treatment program dedicated to providing individuals with the support, structure, and community they need to achieve lasting recovery. Through our residential and outpatient programs and recovery residences, we help people rebuild their lives, heal relationships, and create new paths forward.

On April 26th, Michael Martinez, Lauren’s father, will be riding in the Salt Lake City Marathon in her memory and donating the funds raised to The Haven. His dedication and generosity will help ensure that others receive the same compassionate care and support that Lauren so deeply believed in.

A staff member who worked with Lauren shared this message:

“Lauren was a force of light—bubbly, stubborn, beautiful, and incredibly intelligent. She had a way of making everyone feel unconditionally loved and cared for, always brightening any room she walked into. Today, we honor her life and legacy by supporting The Haven, the treatment center that was part of her journey.

In Lauren’s memory, her father has started a GoFundMe to support The Haven in providing care and hope to those who need it most. Your donation will help others on their path to healing, ensuring they receive the same compassion and support that Lauren so deeply believed in.

My name is Michael Martinez. I’m the father of Lauren Martinez. I am riding my recumbent bike in the 26-mile Salt Lake City Marathon in memory of my daughter Lauren. She was a beautiful person and had a heart of gold. She had such a beautiful spirit that went along with a beautiful voice, and she brought a lot of joy to many people. The world will never be the same without her. I hope the donations received make a positive difference in many people's lives.
