Two students at Queen's University are biking from Kingston to Quebec City and back to support KHA April 23 - May 1!
Kingston Homeless Alliance is a student-led nonprofit dedicated to addressing homelessness in Kingston through direct outreach, education, and advocacy. What began in 2024 at Queen’s University as a small initiative connecting students to volunteer opportunities has grown into a hands-on, community-driven effort supporting people experiencing homelessness across the city.
The organization focuses on meeting immediate needs by providing essential care packages containing toiletries, weather-appropriate clothing, snacks, and everyday necessities, delivered directly to individuals on the streets. Through collaboration with local shelters, organizations, and student groups, KHA mobilizes volunteers, redistributes resources, and creates real, on-the-ground impact.
To support this mission, Evan Romachyk and Orlando Madruga are biking 1300 km across Ontario to raise funds for KHA, aiming to raise $1300, or $1 for every kilometre ridden. Every contribution goes directly toward building care packages and expanding outreach efforts in Kingston.
