Hello, my name is Rico and I'm trying to get my small family back together.
I am totally blind in my left eye and legally blind in my right due to Acute Retinal Necrosis. I moved to a Third World country back in 2002 to be with my wife because due to my disability did not meet income limits to get her a visa.
After seventeen years of marriage we finally had a precious baby boy, Journey, but still no way to bring our small family home.
The Third World conditions were very harsh on me (I went there with jet black hair, which had become all white less than ten years later due to the stress of hardship there.)
My son inherited my citizenship, and once Covid hit the Third World conditions became truly dangerous, oftentimes military patrolling to make sure no one left their homes, even for just food and water weeks at a time. The president over there even gave shoot-to-kill orders to silence those who protested such tyranny. And so we worked with the U.S. embassy to get us out, the only way they would help being a government loan. We now owe them over $2600. And we had no choice but to leave my wife, his mother behind.
Thankfully I can still see well enough to care for my son, but it is unknown how long my remaining sight will last. The only thing doctors are certain of is that it will not get better, my condition leaving no room for improvement. In addition to this I have a metal rod fused to my spine to stop it from curving over more (Kyphosis. Surgery done at Shriners Hospital Los Angeles in 1993.) Despite these issues I keep on keeping on, for.my small family
It is so sad that the only thing keeping us separated is money. That the powers-that-be put a price tag on a loving family's right to be together.
If I can make enough to meet that income limit I can get my wife her visa and she can be here in the U.S. with us.
Please help my son get his mama back. Please help our small family reunite.
