Today, we celebrate the release of Ricky Thomas, who served more than 20 years of a life sentence for burglary. While incarcerated, Mr. Thomas completed a wide array of programming, worked hard as a groundskeeper, joined multiple ministries, completed vocational training courses in Pest Control, and became a Class A Trustee.
Earlier this year, Mr. Thomas was represented by Innocence & Justice Louisiana at his parole hearing. After completing a final work program requirement, now he is free. We are grateful to our partners at the Louisiana Parole Project for helping him start his reentry journey.
Mr. Thomas looks forward to reconnecting with family, finding meaningful ways to fill his days, and making himself and his people proud. Please donate to his GoFundMe to support him in this transition.
