Rick's Medical Mission Trip to Peru
Hello!
I'm Rick Tumminello, and I need your help.
Upon completing my first year of medical school, I’ll be traveling with Work the World to provide medical assistance to the underserved and underresourced people of Arequipa, Peru . I will be volunteering in the Emergency Department of their local hospital, assisting healthcare professionals treat patients, from June 26 – July 17, 2016.
I'm asking for your assistance to make this trip a reality. Your contribution would provide me with the incredible opportunity to enhance my ability to communicate with patients, experience healthcare in another country, collaborate with international medical students, and serve a patient population truly in need.
About me:
I'm from Vernon, NJ, where I grew up playing football, lacrosse, and even played trumpet in the VTHS marching band. I continued on to Cabrini College, where I graduated with a degree in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology and had the opportunity to play some rugby with Second City Troop RFC. I was then off to the Philadephia College of Osteophathic Medicine (PCOM) to earn a M.S. in Biomedical Science.
I am currently a first year medical student at PCOM. My interests include emergency medicine, exploring new destinations and learning to become a better physician.
