Enhance Richland Twp Park - PICKLEBALL COURTS

Dear Friend of Our Community:
We’ve all heard about it; we’ve seen it on Good Morning America, the Today Show, and on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. It’s been played on the floor of the Dow Jones Stock Exchange and on the hallowed courts at the Billy Jean King Tennis Center. Michigan’s own Jeff Daniels has even written a play to be performed at The Purple Rose Theatre about it. Pickleball is the fastest-growing sport, with an estimated 5 million players. Yet, in Richland, there are no outdoor public courts to play on.
Richland Township and a group of dedicated volunteers from the surrounding area are working together to build outdoor courts to fill the explosive demand. Potentially to be built at the Richland Township Park on 32nd Street, the courts will bring diverse generations together to play, and improve their health and well-being while developing great new friendships. Restaurants, bars, gas stations and other local businesses all stand to gain from the playing community, not to mention the increased quality of life for our many area residents who currently play and those that will take up the game.
The Richland Area Pickleball Community (RAPC) volunteers have been tasked with raising consciousness as well as funding. We are seeking $300,000 in donations to build the courts. RAPC volunteers in conjunction with Richland Township, are embarking on building 6 well-designed, low-maintenance courts, an ADA walkway, fencing, and a gathering place by the summer of 2023. We cannot do this without community-minded sponsors like you!
Your generous commitment to sponsor this exciting project would make a powerful statement to the community while providing additional name recognition for you or your business to hundreds of players in Richland and surrounding areas as well as the many thousands of users of our well-appointed and beautiful community park.
