Richie & Maggie NYC Marathon 2025 for Gus

This year, we are honored to be running the 2025 New York City Marathon in memory of our dear friend, Augustus "Gus" Cardello, and to raise funds for the Augustus Cardello Memorial Scholarship Fund.

Gus made every room brighter, every moment funnier, and every person feel seen and loved. We’re running 26.2 miles to honor his memory, his legacy, and the lasting impact he made on all of us.

The Augustus G. Cardello ’21 Memorial Scholarship Fund

The Augustus G. Cardello ’21 Memorial Scholarship Fund was established on April 25, 2019, by Joseph and Michelle Cardello, parents of Augustus. For the family, it is a way to stay connected to the Providence College community Gus loved so much.

Gus exemplified the best of Providence College. He was such a welcoming presence, and a person that could make anyone smile. He built such an extensive community of friends at PC because of his outstanding personality and character. This scholarship fund provides students of similar character with financial support to attend PC. The mission of this scholarship fund will be continuing to try and build the best possible Providence College.
