A Kiddie Fund for the Richardson-Garcia Family

We are incredibly excited to share with you that the Richardson-Garcia family is expanding by two! Yep, twins are on the way and are expected early this Winter.

We are gathering funds to help build a cushion of financial support around these pillars of our birth community. We have a chance to support them on this journey so let’s turn our dollars into thank you’s, into love notes, into wishes for this family to THRIVE.

The money we are raising for Morgane, Alexandra, their three (THREE!) kiddos will give them space to move through this tender, beautiful, messy moment with a little more ease. More specifically, it’ll go towards:

1. Paying off debt, including outstanding medical bills, and the cost of twin supplies incurred in the preparation of a surprise additional babe.

2. A supported postpartum. As of right now, Alexandra will hopefully take two weeks off postpartum and then Morgane will be needing extra hands to care for two babies at home along with support for their eldest who is 4.5 years old. Any leftover funds will go towards paying for a parent helper/childcare and/or prepared food.

Unfortunately, in the United States the fundamental rights of parents are not protected and families are not set up for success. Today, parents’ basic needs are put on individuals to figure out and in order for the bills to get paid, most of us will have to get back to work asap or go into credit card debt. Thanks, America!

Luckily for our community, the Richardson-Garcia family are the co-founders of Woven Bodies and have chosen to provide affirming care to families where people can receive acupuncture support, childbirth education, access to birthworkers, doula trainings and so much more. If you know Morgane and Alexandra at all, you know that Family Justice and the Right to Parent, particularly for the Queer Community and Families of Color is at the root of everything they do. They leave not one person behind in the support they offer.

If you took a Doula/Birthworker training, if Morgane was your Doula, if Alexandra has ever looked at your tongue, recommended a brew, or put a needle in your body you have received fertility advice, pregnancy advice, professional advice, learned about second parent adoption or just giggled with these two, then this is your chance to say thank you, we love you and we can’t wait to support your family’s growth.
