Richard and Ramon are Growing Their Family

Hello friends and family!
We are so excited to share the news that we've started the adoption process! We are thrilled to finally be growing our family and we can't wait to share the joy of this experience with you.
We've never done fundraising before - So this will be one of many new experiences for us! We've been fortunate to have a stable life and good careers. Because of this, for the both of us, it feels like the right time to open up our home and our lives and expand our family.
Some financial background - We don't have a huge amount of money saved up, and our employers are both smaller organizations that don't provide adoption benefits. For us, as a couple that can't have children the old fashioned way, starting a family involves an upfront cost, over and above all the standard expenses involved in expanding your family. Adoption and legal fees are expensive!
Our choice to fundraise comes from a desire to give our child the best possible life. The less of the upfront costs we have to finance, the more flexibility we will have to deal with all the typical needs of having a new baby at home!
For anyone new to our lives, here's the nitty-gritty: We both grew up in Racine, WI but didn't meet until sophomore year of college. 12 years later, here we are! We've grown together, especially in the last seven years married to each other, and travelling out to the East Coast and back for work. We've purchased our first home - with a nursery! - and are ready to be parents. Thank you in advance for anything you can contribute, even if that's just time or good luck!
