On 1/15/21 Rhonda was diagnosed with myelodysplastic syndrome - with excess blasts (MDS) which is a form of cancer that attacks blood within the bone marrow. The excess blasts are a high risk to develop into leukemia. She is perusing aggressive treatment including an induction round of chemotherapy and then a bone marrow transplant.

Rhonda is currently receiving care at the university of Washington and due to COVID restrictions in the hospital, she is alone.

This is a long journey for Rhonda and her family. When speaking with Rhonda, she truly asks first for your prayers. But we want to do more than that! If able, please consider donating money to support them in this journey. The road is long, but with friends like hers, we can make it a bit shorter. Returning to work for Rhonda may be many months from now, if at all, given the state of her immune system following a bone marrow transplant. Even the smallest gift would be the biggest blessing.
