Rhonans Optic Brain Tumor Fund

Hi my name is Sara. I am Rhonans mom and best friend. Rho was diagnosed with a rare optic brain tumor a year ago just after her 16th birthday. Because the tumor is located on the chiasm of her optic nerves, if the tumor were to be surgically removed she would permanently lose all her vision. Rhonan went on to have a brain biopsy surgery and then we went to NYC last summer for 7 weeks of radiation. 2 months after the follow up mri had shown the tumor actually doubled and tripled in size. So Rhonan had started Chemotherepy 2 days before Christmas. She has been so strong and positive, and shown bravery that matches no other for dealing with this type of situation at such a young age. Even though she's lost a ton of weight and her hair she prevails and not only an inspiration to all around her. She's currently taking a break from the chemo as it has sent her to the hospital numerous times for blood transfusions. Rhonan wants to go to Boston to meet doctors to find more answers and possible less evasive treatments. Because of the appointments, emergency hospital visits and Rhonans home care I have had to lessen my work hours to nearly nothing at all. Any donations made are going to the care of Rhonan at home and trips to appointments, medical bills, and to help get her to Boston so she may finally get the treatments she so desperately needs.
