UK Refugee Support

Donation protected
In recent weeks, a malnourished baby boy was found crying in a flat in Glasgow. His mother, Mercy Baguma was laying next to him but, unfortunately she had passed away at the age of 34 due to living in EXTREME poverty, here in the UK.

Asylum Seekers are expected to live off £37.75 a week, per person, per household. This, very minimal amount of money can be very difficult to budget, ESPECIALLY when you are trying to navigate through a new country, and even more difficult with young children!

There are many refugees who are claiming asylum, some of which are placed in hotels and therefore are not entitled to the £37.75 government grants. Furthermore, It is illegal for asylum seekers to TRY and FIND  employment. This results in people 'illegally' working and risking their chance of claiming asylum in order to survive.  It is LITERALLY impossible for them to purchase items; such as a mobile phone, to help them reconnect with loved ones!

Imagine a world where INNOCENT people; who have lost their livelihood to all kinds of chaos, destruction and war, are GREETED with sufficient aid and guidance towards rebuilding their new lives.

The vast majority of us have never had to even consider risking our lives to reconnect with our families or, to simply live a comfortable life.

Government support for these refugees is MINIMAL,  and that is why we must all act in Solidarity with these people who NEED a friendly face to guide them through this difficult transition.

That is why we are creating the UK Refugee Support network which is designed to provide national aid to newly arrived refugees ACROSS the UK.

Many of these people have limited English language, which can make integrating into our society very challenging and lonely.

Aims and Objectives:

1. To create and distribute care packages that will include a mobile phone, clothing, books, and information that is relevant to the receiver.

2. To provide refugees with access to translators and volunteers who are keen to help in anyway they can.

3. To create a nationwide support network that can rapidly respond to refugees in need of aid.

4. To tackle the negative stigma surrounding the topic of refugees and migrants in today's UK media industry. Our network aims to educate the UK public of the REAL struggles that these PEOPLE have endured as well as their future plans, and the amazing support provided by our volunteers.

All donations will be going towards achieving the aims and objectives above.

Our volunteers span across the UK and the MORE volunteers we have in different parts of the country,  will mean faster and better support for the refugees!

Follow our facebook page to see regular updates on what our volunteers have been up to! You can also sign up to become an ACTIVE VOLUNTEER and provide first hand support to refugees near you!
