Supporting the Shukratal Orphanage

Tax deductible
The Shukratal Orphanage Charity Project

Please help our forty eight bright children get proper food and shelter during the COVID-19 pandemic, and help them attain a healthier future through your donations.

The Shukratal Orphanage is located in rural India in Shukratal, UP. It was started by a married couple who didn’t have their own kids, but they started to adopt any kid that was left behind for any reason: Girl birth, Mental or Physical disability, Parents death, or Child abandoned due to financial hardships. This couple takes care of 16 girls and 32 boys to the best of their capability, but these kids have only one shower and toilet to share between them and very little room.

These undefended kids are the most vulnerable in our society with no one to voice their pain. Everyday they depend on food donated in a local temple.  Things have not been easy during COVID-19 times, since the temple is no longer operational. These responsible, hard working kids have great potential but spend a significant amount of time in getting their day to day meals.

With your donations, they can put attention into their education and get more in their lives. The team is looking to raise $15000 for the maintenance of the existing orphanage building and construct two new bedrooms and two bathrooms for these children. We also want to provide storage and a consistent monthly food supply. Any donations are appreciated and we are grateful. The $15000 goal is daunting for high schoolers to come up with, so we need your help to be able to effectively achieve this task. Please note that as ABLE is a 501-c3 org, your donations might be matched by your employers and are tax deductible.

Through ABLE (Above & Beyond Leadership & Education), a 501-c3 registered non profit organization, a dedicated team of high school students are committed to make a difference in the lives of these children. ABLE has partnered with the Inner wheel club’s local chapter to help coordinate and complete the work. Our team of students has gathered some financial support for the short term to help with the basic supplies during the tough COVID-19 phase, but the shelter building itself is in dire need of maintenance.
