Rex & Tyler's Housing Fund
Donation protected
Hi fam!
We are Tyler and Rex, two working class queer artists living in NYC and experiencing a housing crisis.
Currently, we have a partial unpaid balance on our rent and are experiencing abrupt changes in housemates that will take effect January 1st. In addition, the property we live at was just sold and is in transition. As a result, we don't know if we will experience a rent increase or have to move, therefore needing to come up with security expenses.
Tyler recently moved here to attend a full time theatre conservatory program and has found difficulty finding work providing sufficient income to fund housing. Financial assistance is needed to keep Tyler in school, developing his talents, abilities and to keep a roof over his head. This educational opportunity is extremely important to Tyler and is his prime motivation for being in New York City. Tyler is committed to the program and is eternally grateful for the love and support that keeps his aspirations alive.
Rex was born and raised in Queens, NY and is a trans/queer/femme working artist & organizer. They sustain themselves financially by working retail and doing freelance writing. Rex struggles with chronic illness and complex PTSD, which has been more difficult to manage during this time of housing insecurity. Rex is able to cover their own expenses, but is paycheck-to-paycheck, and cannot cover additional expenses.
Both of us are able to cover our own upcoming expenses, but not the previous unpaid balance and third portion of the rent for January 1st. Any donations would go to keeping us housed at our current place or go toward securing a new home.
We would be extremely thankful for any and all support from our community, friends, and fam in this stressful time! Help us keep the NYC community vibrant by supporting two caring, creative queers! <3
