Reviving a local shelter in Lawrence, Ma

Hello beautiful people, my name is Reyna Delacruz and I am the CEO and founder of my small business Sirena’s Secret.

Last week I had the opportunity to visit a local shelter in downtown Lawrence, Ma whose name and address will remain undisclosed for privacy reasons. Not only did I want to document the run down living conditions of the 50 people they service but I also wanted to expose the city of Lawrence for not donating a single dime to the shelter in terms of funding and resources since they opened back in 1970.

Homelessness can happen to anyone. Considering the toll our world took last year, the suffering many endured such as losing their loved ones, their jobs and ultimately the bread winners of their home, we know that homelessness can happen to anyone.

Addition can look like many difference faces; gambling, drugs, alcohol, and even food. Before you wonder what landed someone else on the street, leading them to lose all their dignity and panhandle, pray that God has some mercy on your own soul.

It doesn’t matter if you think homelessness or addiction are mental illnesses of their own. The reality is that these two factors still rob an individual of everything they love. Besides the tangible like their houses and families, it also robs them of the intangible like their hopes, dreams and self esteem.

We ask you to stay tuned to our following posts as we will be running a canned food/ fresh food drive, hosting a thanksgiving dinner with the donation of food trays and raising funds to get these folks some proper living conditions and basic necessities.

Before you ask where is the city in all this, I’ll have you know that our current Mayor Mr. Vasquez intervened and denied the process of this shelter purchasing an abandoned fire station. So much for community action.

Before this city needs a good mayor, it needs good people. We hope you can share this message. If 15,000 people view, and 15,000 people are able to
