Revive Turner Ashby's Garden of Angels
Donation protected
My name is Linda Leffel, retired TA art teacher, and I am raising funds for the restoration of the Turner Ashby High School Memorial Garden, The Garden of Angels. Created in 1996, the Garden of Angels is dedicated to the memory of more than 40 students and teachers who died while attending Turner Ashby. The Art Club at TA maintained the garden until my retirement in 2000 and there was no one interested in taking on the responsibility at that time. I continued to maintain it as best I could until an accident deemed me physically unable to do so. The garden fell into disarray, but the new art teacher, Emily Quisenberry, has rallied a group of students and a few teachers to take on a restoration project to renew the garden. We have some great plans but need money for a retaining wall around the original tree (in memory of Roger Hinton), which is in the center of the garden. We also need edging and gravel for the paths and new plantings. In fond memory of those represented, we wish to restore the garden to its original glory. Any assistance would be so much appreciated.
