Hi, my name is Andrew, and I’m a Scout with Troop 21. I’m excited to begin my Eagle Scout project this summer.
I’ll be refurbishing the two baseball backstops at Sierra Madre Elementary School—the same field where I attended elementary school and first played Little League. This field helped spark my love for baseball, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to give back to a place that means so much to me.
Over the years, the backstops have become worn down, with sections of rotting wood that need to be replaced. My project will involve removing the damaged material, installing new treated lumber, power washing and sanding the structures, and finishing them with a fresh coat of paint.
This work will help improve both the safety and appearance of the field for the local Little League and softball teams, as well as the families who use it each season.
I’ve already raised over $1,000 to buy project materials, including pressure-treated lumber for both backstops, exterior primer and paint, galvanized screws, hardware, wood filler and repair supplies, sandpaper, brushes and rollers, and other materials needed to restore the backstops.
Any donation—large or small—will directly support the cost of supplies needed to complete this project. Thank you for your support and for helping improve a place that means a lot to our community.
Go Madre!
