We are working with the Elmhurst Park District in order to raise money to re-stock Eldridge Pond, as it was not funded this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
This money will go towards re-stocking and revitalizing the pond at Eldridge. Once this is done, we will use the funds to have more activities for all ages, such as fishing lessons, and possibly fishing tournaments.
Re-stocking: This year the park district was unable to restock the pond, due to COVID. We would like to re-stock it even better than before. The approximate cost of re-stocking the pond will be $2,000. We are looking to maximize the amount of fish possible for Eldridge and make it the best place to fish in Elmhurst.
Re-vitalizing: We want to coordinate a volunteer day to clean up the pond and area around. There are a lot of branches and debris that need to be removed.
Education & Activities: some of funds will be used to pay for educational activities at the pond, such as fishing lessons, wildlife educations, and possibly an annual tournament.
Unspent funds will be left to the Park District to help continue to re-stock and maintain Eldridge pond and continue programs.
Once we reach $2,000, I will be withdrawing the funds and writing a check to the Elmhurst Park District - Eldridge Park Revitalization Program. We will with and send funds to the EPD after every $2,000 raised. I will post updates on our progress.
