Ukrainian Mom of two needs our help to start over

My sister and the children were fortunate enough to evacuate Bucha, but unfortunately they witnessed firsthand a lot of the cruelty that took place in their comfortable family town. I helped them move to the United States and get on with their lives.
Since they’ve evacuated, the long and challenging journey began. They went to another city in Ukraine, more West, and in a week it became not that safe as it was as well. Then I convinced them to take a bus to Poland. As they left their car in Bucha, because the roads were full of military cars and tanks, most of them were destroyed, the as well as the bridge that needed to be crossed in order to evacuate, and it was extremely dangerous to travel by car. One of their neighbors attempted to leave and were injured in their own car. Then Mariia made a decision they have to risk and leave, the sooner the better and bring kids to safety.
They stayed in Warsaw for almost a week and then came through Tijuana to the U.S. after 4 days waiting in line. For now they have a temporary housing in San Diego, the incredibly kind and amazing lady offered her help when I shared Mariia’s story with her. But they need our help to settle in the U.S., as my sister’s town is no longer a safe place to raise kids.
This amount of money were needed to get Mariia, her kids and our parents to come to the U.S.
I am extremely grateful to everyone who could donate a penny to our family fund to help them to settle down and get back to normal life.
With much love,
Tatiana on behalf of Olena, Volodya, Masha, Dasha and Vova
If you’d like to learn more about Bucha, watch the story of one family that also was able to evacuate Bucha . This is just one of a thousand people who were lucky to evacuate; there are still many people staying there. Thank you all.
