Give kids a gift of life- reunite this family

My name is Rohini, and I am a proud Indian-Australian living in Melbourne for 15 years. I am fund-raising for a family I met two years ago whose story of challenges and triumphs touched my soul forever. During our home renovations, I met Wahid Noori, a very hard-working painter and a kind soul. Always wearing a smile, often requesting me to play songs from Hindi movies that he watched growing up and stopping to take time to interact with my little girl. It made me ask Wahid about his background and his family. Wajid told me he is a refugee who beat many odds and fought death closely to escape Afghanistan to find a safe and secure future for his young family. With his permission, I am sharing some of the photos of his four children (Haidar, Elaha, Elfath, and Sahar) and his wife (Bibi Shukriya).

Wahid, is now a legal citizen of Australia and works hard to support his family financially. He has left behind his wife and four kids in Afghanistan to find a safe route for them to migrate to Australia. He suffers from daily terror and worries about his family's safety. A recent bomb attack in Afghanistan at a girl's school got too close to home as Wahid's daughter, who attends the same school escaped her death by sheer luck. I have attached a video clip of the post-incident.

Wahid has been trying very hard, making requests and asking for compassion from authorities to help bring his family to live with him in Australia. But it all comes down to money for the visa application, which he is saving but doesn't have enough of yet. He needs 25,000 to apply for his family's visa. The cost of each visa application is $6000+, and there are additional costs of family needing to travel to Pakistan to get medical tests for visa purposes (Afganisthan doesn't have an approved medical center). The cost for five applications (4 kids, and 1 wife) is over $30,000. Wahid has requested monetary help of $25,000 and hopes to continue to save and make up for the rest of the cost.

Wahid is a hard-working, honest and kind-hearted man who makes a meaningful contribution to our society through his skills and services. Let's shine some of this kindness back on him in the spirit of humanity. Wahid is in touch with a lawyer who is assisting him with the dependant visa applications for his family. As soon as the total funds needed are available, he can apply with the immigration office. All funds collected here will be transferred to Wahid for the purpose listed here. I will keep all donors updated on how the funds are spent to meet the goal of this fundraiser.
