Reunite The Martinez Family
Donation protected
Hi! We are raising funds to reunite our friend, Dani, her son Liam, and husband Emilio. They met during a trip abroad and it was love at first sight. The couple married shortly after and they have worked so hard to get Emilio here in order to start their real dream, beginning a family together.

Due to COVID and the political environment, Dani was able to visit, but Emilio was not able to travel. A usual 2-3 month process has stretched over 15 months and they had another surprise after having time together. Sweet baby Liam was beginning his own journey into the world.
As they await the call that Emilio can come to the States, the uncertainty of when and how falls on Dani’s shoulders. Liam arrived in his momma’s arms on October 27. Nine months passed. Dad is still waiting…

The family will have many expenses beginning their lives together in the same country and there are still yet more to come to get them together.

Emilio will have to travel to Guyana. In order to do so, people are buying tickets and selling them for up to 5k per ticket one way to get to their interview or risk having to reschedule with no determined date. Notice for interviews are typically only three weeks in advance, so planning and saving is difficult. He will have to pay for a return ticket to Miami and have $2k in Guyana in cash or risk being sent back. Lodging, medical exams, and other consulate expenditures will be needed. All of this falls on Dani’s shoulders as Emilio has not been able to work since beginning of Covid due to country wide restrictions. The USCIS has rejected two expedite requests even though mom is a
US citizen and pregnant. It has been exhausting for all.

Being a new parent is hard enough. Dani is essentially raising a newborn alone and Emilio is a father who has not been able to hold his own child in his arms. We work as one to get this family together again. Liam deserves it, as do his parents. Thank you for your help!
